House with Four Courtyards – The Purchase Residence

This house is located in Westchester Country, New York, a forested landscape that has been highly developed with small cities, suburbs, highways and roads. The Purchase Residence is designed with four courtyards, which capture as many views as possible while not being overwhelmed by the noise of a near interstate highway.

The four-courtyard scheme separated the house to five areas: formal living, diving, kitchen pavilion that looks out on the landscape from every side; a bedroom wing; a study wing; an office wing; a guest wing. The house’s exterior walls were laid with roughened stone faces and then polished smooth when they turned inward to become formal part of the residence. [Cutler Anderson Architects]

Amazing Architecture in Black&White – CCO1 House From Levenbetts

We really liked the way these pictures were taken and especially how the black&white house seems to rise from the snowy lands. But these are rather irrelevant facts when confronted with some of the more “technical details”. The “CCO1” as a project belongs to Levenbetts, an architecture firm from New York. Located in Columbia County, the place has 2 bedrooms, 2,5 bathrooms, a garage,a study room and of course a dining space and a kitchen.

Here is some information on the architecture plans from the project developers: “the design follows the direction and modules of crop lines that are created by the machinery used to farm he land. The house is organized between two linear volumes, one wet and the other one dry. The wet zone contains bathrooms, kitchen, laundry and utilities and the dry one contains living, dining, study and bedrooms”. You’ve probably come across larger or more imposing houses on Freshome. Still, do you think this place lacks anything?

Beautiful Interior Design Maroubra Residence in Australia

Designed by Eddie Kenda and built by Halemist, this beautiful house comes from “The Architecture Company” and is located in North Maroubra, Australia. Being given that its location is by the beach, the views from the residence are absolutely fantastic, which is also a strong feature of the building. The first floor houses the living-rooms, while the bedrooms are located downstairs.

The colors are amazing, most of the rooms having plenty of white furniture items and decorations. What stands out is the building’s mellow and pure interiors. Classy and tasteful, art objects decorate the walls and attract attention in a subtle way. There are also plenty of terraces and large decks for relaxing, having a party or simply enjoying the magnificent views. We really enjoyed the overall feeling that these arrangements inspire and we hope so will you.

R3 Triangle Building in San Diego from Lloyd Russell

Raising above the surrounding elements, the “R3 Triangle Building” from Lloyd Russell seems to reign its environment due to its unique and impressive architecture. The building was constructed for mixed purposes (residential and commercial) and it is located in Little Italy, San Diego. The exterior design is very original, even though the lack of many windows make it a bit unfriendly. However, its originality makes up for this detail, which may not necessarily be a “must” in many people’s preferences. The interior features plenty of rooms in the shape of triangles, and furniture placed accordingly. We think they did a great job adjusting the inside elements with the overall unusual shape of the building, don’t you?

Alki Townhomes in Seattle by Johnston Architects

From Johnston Architects, comes Alki Townhomes, a project which implied the construction of two similar residences that look as if concentrated in a single unit. The houses are located very close to Alki beach, which makes it a great escapade and also a place with fantastic views. Beautiful glass facades and amazing interior design are also some of the strong points of these twin homes. The attic is particularly interesting and the fact that both residences have one is truly unique. We also like the way the room is arranged, as it looks very comfortable and cosy. Which one of the rooms do you prefer?

A Primitive Series Light Weight Design

Turin Design studio Nucleo have developed the appropriately-named “Primitive Series” of furniture which pretty clearly looks like weightless white granite. Although made from cardboard or foam and actually covered with resin to give it the style and stone-like quality, the materials allow the heavy-looking furniture and light fixtures to appear boxy, heavy, ancient and almost cubist. If (from first glance) someone told me that Nucleo was given ancient ruins to turn into furniture, I might have actually believed that it was possible. Except for the casual weightlessness of the light fixture, that might’ve been a little hard to wrap my mind around.
